Name: Charlene Sarongon  Host Training Establishment (HTE): Cultural Museum  Week Number: 10 Dates Covered: October 27 - November 3 Submitted on: November 3, 2025 Concrete Experience Today, we had international visitors at the university museum, Japanese professors Dr. Reiko Ogawa from Chiba University and Dr. Michiyo Yoneno-Reyes from the University of Shizuoka. Unfortunately, I was not present during their visit because I had to attend a scheduled thesis interview in Barangay Calumpang, General Santos City. Before my absence, I informed my supervisor about my situation and obtained permission to miss that day’s activity. On the following day, even though I missed the visit, I made sure to continue performing my duties responsibly. Sir Halim, one of the museum staff , told us on the other day that he was absent for one day, and he assigned us to take charge of the museum in his absence.   Reflective Observation The experience of taking charge of the museum without our su...

Name: Charlene Sarongon  Host Training Establishment (HTE): Cultural Museum  Week Number: 9 Dates Covered: October 20 - October 27 Submitted on: October 27, 2025 Concrete Experience It was 6:30 in the morning when I woke up and prepared for another day as an intern at the university museum. On this day, we didn’t have any special visitors or guests from other colleges, but we still had students coming in to visit. Even without special events, working in the museum is always a joyful experience because we continue to serve and entertain different groups, whether they are students from other schools or even visitors from other countries. Most of my tasks for the day involved encoding information and organizing documents. I also assisted and guided students during their visits, helping curate their experience and making sure they felt welcome. The museum was quite busy, with many different people and students coming in and out throughout the day. During our free time, my co...

Name: Charlene Sarongon  Host Training Establishment (HTE): Cultural Museum  Week Number: 8 Dates Covered: October 13 - October 20  Submitted on: October 20, 2025 Concrete Experience On October 11, 2025, our much-awaited Educational Trip for the Public History Track began, and we traveled to Zamboanga City with Ma’am Ludivena Lagrio and Sir Kenneth Estano. We traveled by land using the university van, packed with our things, including our bags and essentials. We arrived at Ma’am Ludivena’s boarding house in the evening and settled in for the night, ready for an exciting week of learning and exploration. Before leaving, I had already communicated with my supervisor and the museum staff regarding my absence from the internship, as the trip would keep me away from duty from October 12 to October 18, 2025. This trip coincided with the opening of the 2025 Intramurals at the university, but I made sure everything was in order before heading out. Upon arriving in Zamboanga...

Name: Charlene Sarongon  Host Training Establishment (HTE): Cultural Museum  Week Number: 7 Dates Covered: October 6 - October 13  Submitted on: October 13, 2025 Concrete Experience It's Monday, October 6, 2025, early in the morning, and I wake up at 7:00 AM to start another busy day as an intern at the museum. The day was filled with tasks, from creating pubmats, editing photos, taking pictures around the museum for posting, to captioning and encoding various details. Aside from all the paperwork, we also curate for visitors, especially students who come into the museum. Every time a group enters, we make it a point to approach them, welcome them, and ensure they feel comfortable. This week, we are busy with not only paperwork but also preparations for the upcoming intramurals. On top of that, our Public History track is preparing for an educational trip to Zamboanga City, which will take place from October 12 to October 18, 2025. The trip will be led by Ma’am Ludivena L...

Name: Charlene Sarongon  Host Training Establishment (HTE): Cultural Museum  Week Number: 6  Dates Covered: September 29 - October 6  Submitted on: October 6, 2025 Concrete Experience The day began early, as usual, on September 29, 2025, a Monday. It was 5:00 AM when I woke up to prepare for my internship at the university museum. Another week of work and learning was ahead of me, and I was excited for the experiences to come. I always try to wake up early to ensure I arrive on time at 8:00 AM, aiming to make a good impression as an intern. Today was especially busy, as we were preparing for the visit of Mr. Francisco José Ruiz, an international visitor from Spain. His visit was scheduled for October 2, 2025, and we, the student interns (Charlene Sarongon, Wawie Lawa, Erica Tolentino), along with the museum staff, gathered to prepare for his arrival. We had the privilege of curating an exhibition that showcases the unique and vibrant traditions and cultures of the tr...
